Time clock

Clock in at the staff entrance with a PIN

A tablet at the entrance and a 6-digit PIN: the punch is recorded in the employee’s name. Where it suits the site, staff can also punch from their phone or by scanning a QR code.

Tablet, phone or QR code: the punch is always the employee’s own

The tablet PIN works on every site. You switch on the phone and the QR code where they make sense.

  • PIN at the tablet

Each person types their own PIN and sees today’s shift. The tablet then offers only what makes sense next: clock in, start or end a break, clock out.

  • Phone, checked against the work location

Face ID, then one position reading at that moment, compared with where the person works today. Never tracked before or after.

  • QR code, on the tablet or printed

The tablet shows a code that changes every 30 seconds, so a photo of it stops working a minute later. A printed code per work location covers terraces, warehouses and outside jobs.

Decide per site, then make exceptions per person

  • Methods per site

Phone and QR on for the restaurant, PIN only for the central kitchen.

  • Position check

Record only, flag punches out of zone, or refuse them until the person is on location.

  • Exceptions per person

A delivery rider can punch by phone even where the rest of the team uses the tablet.

Connect a tablet with a one-time code

No account on the tablet and no password to share: the code links it to one site.

  1. 1

Get a code in the dashboard

Open Settings → Time-clock tablets and ask for a code.

  2. 2

    Type it on the tablet

Open Averty Pointeuse and enter the code. It works once.

  3. 3

    Staff clock in

The tablet shows the site’s PIN pad. You can disconnect it from the dashboard at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the time clock

Can’t find your answer? Tell us about your sites and your teams.

Ask a question

Which tablets can I use?

iPad and Android tablets with the Averty Pointeuse app, in portrait or landscape. A site can have several tablets.

Can a manager punch for someone?

No. A manager can correct a time afterwards, with a reason, but the punch itself is always the employee’s.

What if a phone has no Face ID?

The app skips that step and goes straight to the position check, with the site’s rules applied.
